Naomi Newman RN/RM- Calmic Birth Services

(Bsc Health Science, Grad Dip Midwifery, Grad Cert Midwifery, Masters of Science Health Practice)

I am a Endorsed Registered Midwife / Registered Nurse, Sessional Academic and a mother of two, based in Scarborough.  I have a background in mental health nursing, OH&S roles in Mining / Oil & Gas  and working in East Africa before becoming a midwife.

I have chosen to work as an Endorsed Privately Practising Midwife as it enables me to provide continuity of care and holistic  individualised care to support women and their families through pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. I have worked in Private practice for over ten years and have experience in a variety of holistic/ healing modalities which I incorporate into my practice.

My role as your midwife is to provide professional midwifery services and to support you to make informed decisions surrounding your pregnancy and birth, and to care for you, your family  and your baby during pregnancy and then through into the postnatal period.

All antenatal and postnatal care attracts medicare rebates and as your midwife  I am able to order diagnostic and pathology testing as required.

I believe how we birth our babies has a huge impact on the health and well-being of the woman, baby and the whole family.

Birth is a sacred and transformational journey for the woman and her family and as such it deserves the specialised care that only a midwife can provide.

Tegan Van Veen - RN/RM/EPPM

I’m Tegan and I am a privately practising Endorsed Midwife and ready to facilitate your individualised maternity care.

My latest midwifery adventures found me working up in the North West providing continuity of care for women and their families, whilst spending my days off camping, fishing and lapping up the beautiful beaches. It was quite the adventure!!

What was supposed to be a 6 month stint, turn into a few years and an even bigger fire in my belly to trust, facilitate physiological birth and support women’s choice. There is no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to maternity care. I believe that all women should have a named, known midwife for their pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum as we know by the evidence that this improves outcomes for mums and babies.

This is also why it’s so special that Naomi has taken me under her wing! She has been part of my midwifery story from day dot - from the inspiring lectures back during my uni days, to being by my side as I birthed my daughter at home, to the continuous mentorship she has given me and continues to give, sharing her wisdom and knowledge so that I can be the midwife I strive to be.

The true definition of continuity. I am really looking forward to diving deep into this new chapter of private midwifery practice
